Of course, there are practical reasons for being obsessed about footwear. If I'm going to track down a bomb maker in Madagascar, for example, I need shoes that are up to the job.

I loved these, even patched them when they fell apart.
These are the Dr. Martins I have now.

I am wearing these right now. they are the single greatest pair of shoes I have ever had. I only wear this pair or chucks I update my converse whenever they need replacing, perhaps biannually, switching it up between trying to find these

I bought a few pairs of $20-$30 shoes a few months ago, and these were by far my favorite. Light as a feather. It seriously feels like I'm not wearing shoes, and they're more durable than the others. I also got shoes like these: but they have black and purple guitars on them instead of Pacman ghosts. |

Is there no winter in Germany???? My toes got really fucked up from wearing Chucks in the winter, that's pretty much why I wear boots now. They're good for every season (I put liners in for the winter) and your feet don't ever get wet.

My current Chucks. They now have a bit of green tape over the hole to keep puddle water out. I also have a green pair with green laces, low-top black kept stock and a pair of the Target one stars.

Even in the cold here, (like 32F (0C) and below) I wear two pairs of socks with the Chucks. My toes are completely frozen from late September until April. I've learned to live with it.

i wear chucks in wintertime too, but it doesn't get that cold here. the only boots i have and still like, can only be worn with a skirt or dress (unless you tuck your pants in them and i'll never do that) so when its really cold id rather wear a dress, leggings, warm socks and boots.
i've been wearing my black chucks for two weeks now, they're the best i have for standing all day like i do these days. |
