I think the show would've been alot lamer if she wasn't like that though. Sure at the beginning of the show when she's fresh with meeting Mulder and going on these goofy cases she's skeptical. She mellows out though as the show goes on. Even in that episode when she's on her own with the Chuckie doll or whatever. She consults Mulder about cursed objects and stuff. It wouldn't have been as fun if Scully just immediately agreed with Mulder every time about ressurected zombies or a dude who kills people with his shadow. Scully is just a very factual character. To do a big 180 and just accept everything at face value wouldn't be practical.
