Well, I don't know if that would be so bad. At least it would give me something to write about. Could be a novel in that. Except I'd have to be not-dead in the gutter. Maybe just near death.

I can imagine how awkward everything could be.
I just cant date a girl if she doesnt believe Daydream Nation, Spiderland, Kid A and The White Album are the four greatest fucking albums in the world.

We had enough common ground. She loved the White Album, got into Costello, Talking Heads, others. And I found I liked the Mac albums she was into.

Yeah, I find that it's pretty boring if you both like all the same things. There should be common interests, of course, but you shouldn't expect a carbon copy. That would be just weird. I guess one thing we had in common was music. We both liked music a lot. Not necessarily the same music, but we both liked spending time listening to records and going to shows.

Yeah, having the same common ground is good, but not all. We are both into politics, and some other things, but I am not into sports, but then again he doesn't understand art.

& if it's a good relationship, you both take things from each other's interests. you learn a little about his, he learns a little about yours, and you grow from that.

Then it is your responsibility to get them into other stuff. They probably just haven't had anyone interested enough in educating them about the error of their ways.
