i had my fever at the end of a crummy day yesterday, but took a lot of chinese herbs and vitamin c and stayed in bed & slept & woke up & slept some more and i'm fine today.

i just took my temperature and it's 102.5
i feel like shit but i'll be ok. my nasal cavities hurt like a bitch though and the lymph nodes in my neck are swollen up to about the size of a damn golf ball (needless to say they hurt a whole lot to touch)
my skin is very sensitive to the touch too

it's times like this when health insurance woul dbe handy

nah. health insurance is cack. you get sicker at the waiting room. instead send the boy out for YIN CHIAO. while you can. take it every hour or 2 for the first 24h. and vitamin c (buffered so as to not get the shits). then eat a big cheese pizza and go to sleep. sleep seep sleep. drink liquids (OJ, grapefruit). let your immune system do the work. vitamin c, chinese herbs, & sleep.

stay indoors & do not exert yourself or you'll pay.

i might add that i've got all of the symptoms of hepatitis, including dark urine (i've been drinking water so this makes little sense)
i'm going to be angry if i've got hepatitis and not the flu.

anyway take care of yourself cankers & get good bedrest. i read about some highschool athlete almost dying from the flu--- it's a strong one this season so dont underestimate. bedrest is #1 cure.

i didn't have hepatitis before i had the flu. although this time i am reasonably convinced after consulting the folks at wrongdiagnosis.com (which is an extemely helpful website)
i combined all my symptoms and it said nothing about the flu.
either viral or alcoholic hepatitis.

Out of curiosity, are the free clinics slow? Because all clinics are free here (unless you go to private sector and pay a huge amount) although we have to wait a good couple of hours before we get attended to.

Actually the private clinic sector in Canada generally has very little wait (if not none) because of the availability of free clinics, which are more preffered and more plentiful, but all depending on the area or urgency. I was wondering about the pace of service in the American health system
