I was listening to Jonesy's Jukebox(Steve Jones) and he was saying something abouth how England has an "equivalent" of the US's HoF, but isn't called "HoF", but had some kind of affiliation to Royal Family(like some kind of acceptance of sorts). He also said they wouldn't have done that either.

Gotta love a band that's named after a female self-gratification device

Hip Priest:
PiL was best from "Album" onwards?
I beg to differ; their first 3 LPs are by far their best, and represent a genuine pushing of the musical envelope that has proved quite influential.
And yes, they were far more interesting than the Sex Pistols.

Yeah, PiL were way better than Sex Pistols I think. I still think JR is a prick though.

I'm awfully fond of Flowers of Romance. That's the only one I have an actual copy of though. What are you counting as their third record? Flowers or the live album...Paris Au Printempts or whatever it's called.

I've never been what you call a punk but that ain't mean you're a friend of the whatever established system kind of type.Johnny Rotten made some good records with Pil indeed but as far as most of his views are concerned i find them parochial and ill informed on many(too many perhaps)points. He felt free to inform us on stuff he simply hasnt got a clue about from his cosy music business position. If you do'nt like the music business so much,i ask,why operate within one?

i like the punk philosophy of doing what suits me and being myself and not care about anything else

so yeah, i still consider myself punk; people into mascara and studded belts are less punk than paris hilton

Paris Hilton, I would guess, is a punk in the other sense of the word. You know she loves it, just look at her face.

Now there's an interesting celebrity as far as i am concerned.I read the the gossip magazines all the time and there she is.Looking happy clappy but at the same time terrified of her own shadow as a little puppy in my own perception(wich isnt necessarily right,by the way).More than punk in any sense of the word, she strikes me as being deeply vulnerable and ultimately a damaged kid.

I always felt that with 'Album' the whole package really started to come together as a more powerful entity. The seven songs on that LP are all excellent - they had achieved nothing like that level of consistency until that point, in my opinion. Then there were songs like 'Seattle' et al still to come.

I can see that they became slightly less experimental, so to speak, but I always felt that that was a result of years of inventiveness having resulted in the creation of a solid methodology. THey had found a template, if you like, to channel their creativity into consistently better material.

I look really trendy and hip but I'm more punk than anyone in my school. I don't spend time trying to dress different than everyone else to prove a point.
