Actually, the Twin Cities should be in a category all their own. The North, maybe? It certainly feels like the fringe of the Midwest as it is. Completely different feeling than other Midwest cities. In my experience.

"Upper Midwest" is the term, I think.
I agree with you though; it has a different feel to it. |

The one I want to see most are Boredoms and that's going to happen in october finally.
Other than them there's plenty of stuff I'd like to see once, but nothing I'm really desperate about. Birchville Cat Motel, Astral Social Club, Acid Mothers Temple, Ashtray Navigations, Borbetomagus, etcetera, etcetera. |

i was THIS close to seeing the boredoms.
even thought i wouldn't complain at all if a see the vooerdoms, i would certainly be more excited to get a chance to see the boredoms, with seichii yamamotor and hira. haino...i don't know why everyone expects him to be the most easy going dude in the world and, when they get the arrogant artist he is, they complain and say "well, he WAS amazing, but he had this rockstar attitude..." SO FUCKING WHAT? if you all people knew how to play half the instruments he does and play guitar the way he does, you would be a stuck up son of a bitch too, so quit your whinning. or better yet, if you're seeing haino and plan to complain about what a conceited prick he is then hand me your ticket, i would appreciate the show much more than you, i'm not asking for airfare or housing, i'll rob a bank and sleep in the streets to see keiji haino if necessary, just your ticket. sorry, i had to get that off my chest. |

His rocker attitude is actually what i respect more than anything. He's allowed to be like that, he's like a fucking grandfather to the japanese music scene and even the music scene in general depending on how you look at it. The man is and will always be a god.
Unfortunately the days of the true boredoms are over but the vooredoms really are fucking great, no matter what. Eye still has his insanity as his main instrument and that's all that counts.

Indeed. Haino can be as conceited as he likes (I didn't get that vibe from him when I saw him anyway); he's got what it takes to back up that kind of confidence in spades.

3 time I've seen Haino. It's always been nothing short of utterly mind-blowing. Unfortunately, that's the sort of rhetoric that's pretty dull, but in this case it's true. I think he's quite justified in coming across like an arse, much like our very own Mark E Smith.
