1. It sounds better 2. Expressway To Yr. Skull loops at the end and in order to make it stop you have to physically remove it |

Out of their 80's it's DDN > EVOL > CIS > Sister >>> BMR
BMR is kinda charming, but it's really obnoxious, and obnoxious being a bad thing for SY is really bad because SY is probably at their best when they're obnoxious (see Rain King). CIS is their most charming record, not that it's the best. They couldn't quite articulate what they would in the EVOL - DDN but the songs are just amazing, it's all noisy pop, and atleasy 7/9 songs on CIS are > 9.1 but overall it's a 10.0 record like EVOL or DDN Sister is definetly around 9.5 but it doesn't reach the perfectiong of the other albums, but it does well enough to be an outstanding album, one of the best albums of the 80's still; kind of like a worse Smiths record. and to say something I didn't about EVOL already Expressway is completely amazing because of how it relieves you after a few tense dark songs (bar the first 5 songs). btw I wonder what average people find more inaccessible, original Sonic Youth EP or BMR. |

asim- bmr is more inaccessible. the ep is really easy to sit down with. the drums are funky, and the production's more clear. bmr is something i have to be in the mood to listen to.

Listening to EVOL for the first time was one of the most magical listening-to-an-album-for-the-first-time experiences ever. I felt immediately connected to it.

no, wait. he's satan. satan is way cooler than jesus. i don't understand what everyone has against bubblegum. Quote:
it's a lock-in groove at the end. how annoying. i have an L7 single that does that as well. you don't actually have to pull the arm up, you can just press the stop button. |

When I was ripping all my CDs to digital (Yeah yeah I know, shut up) I left Bubblegum off the album because I felt it ruined the flow so bad.
