i'd pay to see sonic youth, gogol bordello, gotan project actually (ive heard some stuff that was mildly interesting), blonde redhead for sure, !!!, manu chao, maybe the black keys, and of course bjork. sounds actually like a festival from 1999, but still enjoyable.
my problem is that *no decent bands* come near where i live, so i must chase them to festivals where i can gobble up as much as i can. however isn't coachella really horrible, as a... whole setup?? |

Ok, this moves up to Reason #1 why I hate California
I mean, come on!!!! JaMC? Blonde Redhead? Interpol? Sonic youth? Decemberists? Silversun Pickups? Rage? It's like my cd shelf decided it would materialize in Calfornia for three days and not invite me!!!

With VERY few exceptions, that lineup looks positively painful. PAINFUL. Some kind of indie/emo/insert-genre-title-too-hip-for-me-to-know steaming regurgitation.
Maybe I just have shit taste in music. |

LOL, basically. I'd be there for Michael Bolton.
Getting back to r-e-a-l-i-t-y, I only wish I lived on that side of the pond right now - the line-up is looking like the best of the summer festivals. I'm still keeping an eye on Glastonbury, though.

I'll be there if people want to meet up. I just hope they don't conflict SY with DJ Shadow. Barring any conflicts with other bands some of the electronic artists I would check out are Hot Chip, Air, Klaxons, Teddybears, The Rapture, Ratatat, and LCD Soundsystem. There's so many bands that I want to see though I know I'm gonna have to pass up some of them. Check out my music blog for tracks by over 70 of the acts playing this year: http://thealternakids.wordpress.com/...hella-preview/ It's a huge page so it might take a while to load on some computers. |
