I think the only sunn song that could actually be tabbed in a non-ridiculous way is probably it took the night to believe.

I actually just got out my guitar to play that tab. I'm more bored than I realized.

I'm sorry to have to tell you that your sheet music is probably a fake. The clue is in the spelling of the the word 'rhapsody'. I hope you didn't pay too much for it.

Here, play the top string, tremolo picked open. Actually, everything I'm saying is tremolo picked. Then go to the second string, play 2-3. Then play the top string open. Then the second string, 2-3-0-4-1. Why am I having you do this? Cuz I'm more bored than you are. |

It's not about pretension. It's the fact that the giant chain doesn't need your money to stay in business, but the mom and pop shop that's struggling to pay their bills desperately needs your business. If you're going to spend your money, give it to individuals not to a megacorp.

Yeah, that's agreeable, but I don't live near any mom and pop stores. I buy everything online anyway. Plus I'm guessing independant stores carry much better and, uh, DIFFERENT things than bestbuy would.

THANK YOU! My point exactly. & yr independent record stores will have much more to choose from than BB. I'm not saying that using many outlet's of collecting vinyl is wrong, but they're has to be a line drawn somewhere, & this is the line for me.

I just don't see why someone would be... "pissed"... by this. But to each their own.

You gotta love pre-emptive anger has best buy sold any vinyls yet? No have any of us had a chance to see what they would carry and the price? no so why the anger about it? fuck. best buy is a STORE. they sell shit. they will likely carry re-issue 180 g vinyl for $40 a pop. relax.

Best Buy is just acting like ambulance chasers. Typical big corporate strategy. Each dollar you spend is a vote. You can vote for independent businesses or vote for mass market transnational corporations. Many of you don't have the option, hell I live in manhattan and I still frequently mail order stuff. Much of the stuff we like if you blink its gone. Record stores rule. I found David Linton's Neutral LP for $8 at OM last weekend. But then I also bought the Batoh/Espvell CD. I'm not obsessed with formats, but I generally buy vinyl if I have the option.

Sort of, except you can vote for both places, and as many times as you want. If I am picking up something by Toshinori Kondo I'm going to head up to good ol' Shake It Records because I know they will have it. But if I want, say, the new Shins and Best Buy has it on sale for $8.99 (this is hypothetical, although similar situtations have happened to me) then sorry Shake It, hope there are no hard feelings and you understand why I bought it from the "Man." You don't have to make every move and decision throughout the day a statement. |

Amoeba records is already the dominant record store in the city with a number of surviving satellite record stores. Well see if Best Buy can find themselves a corner of the market here.
