I'd go with 'Chairs Missing' first. So many great guitar sounds.

I don't think Wire has one definitive work. Their first three are really all definitive. Might as well go with Pink Flag since it's the first, then move onto Chairs Missing and 154.

well I listed "chairs missing" in my CLASSICS album thing, because it's so dark and amazing.
but as far as my top 10 albums of all time, it'd have to be pink flag. |

i cant really say, i love them all for different reasons. pink flag is simultaneously the best early album ever, as well as the blueprint for post punk. chairs missing is their best guitar album. 154 had the great electronic bleeps along with the guitats, and "i shoulda known better" is one of the best opening tracks in rock history.

yes, amazing band.
for me, at first it was difficult to get into pink flag but after some listens i loved it; then listened to chairs missing and thought "what the hell is this crap?" but it was just that it was so different yet retained their sound, and then i was like "i think i love it more than pink flag" but they are so different and that's what's so great about them. and yeah, i think they are really funny, especially pink flag, the whole album. |

Yeah, Wire's great. Don't sleep on some of their 80's output either. IDEAL COPY is my favorite Wire album and shows some incredible growth musically,i think. Also, a Bell is a Cup is excellent.
