I heard that a male is much more likely to be gay if he has older brothers; quite interesting, eh?
You could argue, but IT'S FUCKING SCIENCE, PEOPLE!!!!! |

Why is this such a big topic?
Some people were arguing about it the other day. I chose to stay out of it. Besides the argument was going no where. But for my opinion, I'd say upbringing. |

Both could and do play a role, I would have to imagine. One doesn't cancel out the other... and people could be "a little gay". Like they just want a reach around on the weekends but go home to their wives. Not that I'm into that... |

I think there are a lot of different factors that make someone gay. I don't think it is purely genetics or purely life experience. There are probably some life experiences that can affect some people's sexuality depending on their genetics. So, in other words- say there is a "gay" gene. It doesn't make you gay, but if you happen to have a parental figure who has a certain personality, or you have a certain sexual experience at a young age, you would start to develop gay tendencies.

Yes, gayness is a continuum. The amount of people who engage in homosexual activities within a community/culture is proportional to how acceptable homosexual activities are within that community/culture. You had to be pretty gay to be gay in 50's America, but not very gay to be gay in ancient Greece. Know what I'm sayin'? |

i will say this. Having gay parents will without a doubt increase your chances of being gay.

I don't know about that, there are so few gay parents out there that any statistics done wouldn't be highly accurate.

I was watching this thing on MTV (one of the few good shows on there) and it was called "Real Life: I have gay parents." All of the sons/daughters on that show were **straight ..so I don't think it matters.

"Arses are the human race's favourite thing. We like them on each other, we like them on magazine covers, we even like them on babies. When we're alone we like the scratch them, when there's a fire we like to warm them and who among us hasn't in a lonely moment reached back for a discreet fondle. We love our arses. When God gave us our arses we had to stick round the back just so we wouldn't sit and stare at the all day. Cause when God made the arse, he didn't just say 'hey it's just your basic hinge, let's knock off early' He said, "Behold ye angels I have created the arse, throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name." It just is. You may be predetermined to be gay but if you are brought up in a very anti-gay household you could probably hate gays so much you became un-gay. I dunno. It just is.

So, why is there a double standard between gay males and gay females? I'm very supportive of gay people living the lifestyle they want. I think its all a civil rights matter, and as a hetrosexual who am I to say a gay man or a gay woman can't do the same things I as a hetrosexual can. Yet, back to my question. Straight women can have thier lesbian "experiance", and its very accepted and encouraged in some ways, yet you never hear about straight men having thier homosexual "experiance". Wonder if it happens just as much as those lesbian ones, and we just don't hear as much about it, do to that double standard.
