I forgot he did Malcom X. That movie's awesome.
I hated 25th Hour, Summer of Sam, and some recent movie he did I can't remember the name of... Dog Day Afternoon is awesome. |

Maybe I'm wrong. And it's been years since I last watched it. But isn't the riot basically a metaphor for self-destruction? I mean, it's like F it, let's just burn this whole place down. |

Yeah. Great cast. Great realization of the Richard Price book. I liked a lot of Lee's movie's really. In fact, and many people disagree, I thought that SUMMER OF SAM was really, really good. I felt like it was not what people expected, but it was really well done. I think people thought "oh a movie about Son Of Sam" but really it was just about that neighborhood and how they were effected by what was going on at that time. It was literally just some peoples' lives during that summer. |

Yeah, I didn't go into it with any expectations. I just found it boring with characters I hated and pretty much plotless. I understood the point of the film and so on, I just thought it was.. uh.. pointless. Haha. You know what I mean.
I can see why it would have its fans, but I had that same problem with 25th Hour as well. Just felt really... I dunno... like there was nothing to it. Didn't have any substance or value to me. |

PS, did you ever see TALES FROM THE HOOD? Lee produced, not directed, but it just reminded me. It's actually a lot of fun.

This is a great movie. I actually believe it's style is the basis for most of my nightmares.
