cool thanks! I'm considering to cancel my Netflix for now, it's a lot more expensive than Prime anyway, and I can't watch both at the same time ;-)
Will definitely try out jean-claude van johnson, it reminds me of that movie JCVD where he also more or less plays himself and gets involved in a bank heist. And that Lord Of The Rings series too. The only one I'll or sure not watch is Clarksons Farm. Even though it may be interesting and entertaining, I've seen so many Top Gear episoedes that I don't fancy watching anything with or by him any longer. But first I'll finish The Boys, I'm liking it. Except that the character I liked most was killed in the last episode of season 1 (the bitchy boss woman that looks a hell of a lot like the HR boss in my previous company) :-)

Recently rewatched all of the Futurama Seasons up to now. Apart from a few exceptions, those earlier Seasons have only gotten better over time. And damn, it must have some of the funniest line-deliveries in animation history. I found myself laughing frequently at some of the most casual asides, because the comedic talent behind the voice acting is just so damn good. And then there are the tearjerkers, oh boy the tearjerkers. If it meant to be moving, it was MOVING, goddamnit. Also, watching this inbetween my Star Trek: Enterprise sessions: Oddly enough, Futurama is a much better Star Trek series than Enterprise.
Cautiously looking forward to the new Season due to drop soon. Some of the concise writing unfortunately fizzled out during the reunion run in the early 2010s, but there were still a few standout episodes here and there. Hope they can re-capture some of that initial spark - though some things obviously need to change, given that the late 90s and early 2000s were much different times. Fingers crossed. |

i really mean it when i say hobbit. the cotswolds is the region that inspired tolkien for the shire. and the employee really looks like a hobbit. i could almost bet he's got hairy feet hahahahaaaa but yeah i understand clarkson fatigue for sure. - i always have prime video because i use amazon for shopping and it's included in the price. plus here you can add/remove other channels. netflix is the one i turn on and off. i just turned it on actually, to watch better call saul. - eta: spent the 4th of july holiday watching the last season of better call saul. it was great! |

I finished the 3 seasons of The Boys. Loved every (well most) minute of it!
Also: Wimbledon. One of my favourite sports tournaments. And the men's final was great this year, so were most other matches I watched. I wanted to watch Tour De France this afternoon, but they are resting. What a bunch of sloths I get bored very soon from watching cycling (and especially the commentators, bladibladibladibla for hours and hours about totally nothing). But I thought it's the relay today, but that's then for tomorrow...

The Boys is insane. Might be more insane than the comic. I hear Season 4 is going to be total fucking madness, as if people running into urethras and then exploding, or performing complex tasks with Python-length penises, wasn’t mad enough.

catching up with netflix:
how to sell drugs on the internet (fast) - breaking bad redone as a german teen comedy. very funny. the main character is often fucking insufferable hahahhaa he looks like an 83 year old lady. anyway, 3 seasons, very good. chapelle's various netflix specials. just watched the mark twain one. dc!! i personally know several people in the audience, which was a nice surprise. pretend it's a city - fran leibowitz chats with scorsese, who laughs waaaaaay too much, like this: "haaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaa" (incessantly). okay martin, calm your tits. fran leibowitz is great, but she's not a comedian like that. i smiled and chuckled at her observations (a lot), but her material is not the stuff of belly laughs, for me. it's clever though, and she's interesting and very entertaining. i'd definitely rewatch. |

Started watching the new Futurama season. A bit rough around the edges in the story progression department, but certainly not lacking heart and inspiration - a fear I had after the very middling seasons some 10 years ago. They're back on track with good character-driven material rather than merely gimmick or fad-based storytelling as was often the case with their previous Comedy Central run. Sure, the first episode does both tackle the phenomenon of binge-watching and provides meta-commentary about the industry that's very on the nose. But what can I say, the writing is actually pretty funny and sharp. This season has potential. Looking forward to the rest of it.

House of the Dragon.
Took me 10 years to watch all of Game of Thrones, so even though I’ve read the book this show’s based on, I wasn’t super keen on it. But it’s OK. |

No clue why they canceled that after only 2 seasons or whatever. Then The Boys comes out and is a huge success. Wonder if Prime is reconsidering that. |
