Groan. I don't wanna hear it. Although I can live with him going more than Baines. There'll be man tears if he leaves.
TBH this is typical Moyes. He dilly dallies around with signing right till the last minute. His insistence in trying to get Fabergas and ignoring other potential signing says it all.

Yeah, he fucked himself over Fabregas. Now he looks desperate to make a big signing just to appease the fans. I hope Everton stand firm on this one. The release clause makes it difficult though.

The release clause for Fellaini runs out a week today,so fingers crossed United do some hardcore fannying around.

Schweinsteiger's safe if for no other reason than, as HKurdt says, Moyes is a total ditherer. The kind of guy who's still deciding on his starter when everyone else is finishing their desert.

Yeah, Madcap was talking about that a few days ago. I don't think Chelsea will sell him but it'll be interesting to see where/how Mourinho plays him. The temptation would be to move him further up into midfield but for me he's still not disciplined enough (in a positional sense) to offer the kind of solidity that Mourinho has traditionally built his teams on. And in defence he's still seen as a weak link by most good midfields. I do love watching him play though.

Had an interesting chat about Moyes in the pub earlier. We all pretty much agreed that we liked him, mainly for what he did at Everton with very little money, but also cos he's got one of those faces that suggests a kind of understated ruthlessness in a fight. The discussion descended into whether it'd be Moyes or DiCanio who'd come out on top if it came to fists, with unanimous agreement that it'd be Moyes on the grounds that DiCanio's passion would eventually get the better of him. In the hardest looking prem manager rankings, Moyes came out number 1, with Villas Boas at the bottom. So now you know. |

If we're talking about who could take take who in a fight, surely Martin Jol would have a good chance? BEAAASSSSTTTT.

There should be a subsection in Zonalmarking for this stuff. Jol was mentioned. He's definitely up there. Personally I think he'd have DiCanio but I still reckon Moyes would be too much. Jol seems more like a straight up Queensbury rules type. If Moyes went down, he'd wait for him to get back up before continuing whereas I see Moyes getting some kicks in if Jol went down. Of course the real out and out bastards (Hughes and Keane) aren't managing in the top flight anymore, otherwise I'd have to go for either of those. I reckon Mick McCarthy could hold his own too but again he's not in the Prem anymore. And we can't forget Iain Dowie. Player-wise, it would've once been a straightforward final between Keane and 'Big Dunc' but it's not so easy now. Sandro's meant to be a bit of a martial arts expert but in a pub scenario I reckon Kevin Nolan would come into his own, going straight for a glass. I'd go for Vidic but it looks like you only need to give him a chinese burn and he'd be out for 6 months. |

I don't know. You'd be surprised, André is a rally driver, you know. He wants to race the Dakar.
I think he could throw a punch. Ha. I can see his exact expression afterwards. I think I'd put 'Arry at the bottom based on health conditions. He looks like someone out of an alcoholic coma and then gassed with paint fumes. He has the anger in him but would probably collapse with an heart attack in the process. |

Things almost got interesting with Pepe and Terry last night. I vaguely remember it(slept through most of it) but it was a good match.

Didn't see the game yesterday but Thiago didn't feature at all, apparently out with fever. Martinez was also out through lack of fitness so we're still waiting to see what Pep's big picture looks like. Ribery was meant to be fantastic. Plus if you don't already know about this it might be something you'd enjoy. |
