What does everyone think of Imperial Wax Solvent? It's like if Can travelled back in time to Victorian Britain |

I like it. It has a few bad songs (as most albums by the Fall do) but it's my favorite since Real New Fall.

I dont know much by the Fall. But I thought REFORMATION POST TLC was a pretty bad album. Is that true, or should I assume that I just don't "get" the Fall?

Hah. Well if you're going to start with the Fall, that's not an album you'd probably want to start with, since no one seems to like it.

Right. I figured for me, logically, I'd start with the albums that contained the 4 tracks that SY covered on the Peel session, so that at least I'd have those few songs as familiar tunes. I'm not sure which albums those are.
Beyond that. I don't know. A singles collection of 70's/80's? |

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Just get hex enduction hour. If you don't like that, you probably won't like anything they do. Every album's actually pretty different. 50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong is pretty awesome though for just a sampler. |

Isn't 50,000 a double though? I tend to like my compilations to be single-diskers. Concise. Y'know? Like, 'OK here's an hour of your life... either you like 'em or you don't."

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........... ........
Lemme think... I think there's a peel sessions single disc (instead of the six disc one) by the Fall that has a lot of songs from different albums on them and a lot of them are superior versions. I don't know about a single disc best of type thing... The thing with the Fall is that they have at least 100 albums probably (28 studio albums and then all the singles, live things, compilations, rarities) so it can get confusing... |

Word. I've sorted thru their discography a few times, just to sort of be aware. HEX and WITCHTRIALS always seem to get good reviews?

Yeah, uhh, lemme think.. It seems the general 5 favorites amongst the sy gossip board are hex, saving grace, perverted, grotesque, and witch trials.
