Tila Tequila
Yesterday I am SO elated about the good news that I just feel like skipping around & then poopidy doo doo in my pants, even though petite, pristine little Tinkerbells like myself don't POO! LOLOL but YAY! So happy! Speaking of which, lately I have been feeling like we are all getting TRULY closer, & closer as days pass on. I really feel like you are all my real friends & family now. Strange because I used to hate the crap out of most people here a while back haha! JUST KIDDING or am I? hehe No but on a serious note, do you guys feel the same way too? This is pretty cool! I really feel like we are all bonding in such a way I have never experienced before, especially on a social network! But I just feel so close to you guys these days do you feel the same or is it just me talking crazy again? Oh well either way I still love ya! Weeee! *flys away* 3Like · Comment · Share |

Good win for England the other day. It was only a friendly but as Brazil have no competitive games in the run up to the WC they're having to take games like this far more seriously than might've been the case otherwise. Wiltshire looked great and seemed to work really well with Gerrard. The only question mark there is how long Gerrard has left for England.
Brazil were disappointing. Ronaldinho doesn't look like he's interested anymore and I've still yet to see any real indication (besides youtube clips) of how good Neymar really is - although to be fair to him, he's supposedly played out of position with Brazil. Either way, he still seems a long way from justifying the 'better than Messi' claims made by Pele. And Real supposedly preparing a bid for Gareth Bale. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...drid-tottenham |

Neymar missed two sitters. I don't care what position you play you can't miss the ones he did.
As for Lampard...well Chelsea are STILL a bunch of pricks for saying they wont extend his contract. A player always able to bring his A game and considering the amount of goals he's scored as midfielder should make a contract a no brainer. Douches.

Been through this with the NBA after the Tim Donaghy scandal. I watch movies, I read novels, both are entirely fictionalized. Does it negate my entertainment value? Hardly. Further, have you actually watched wrestling before? The thing is entirely a farce, but we could never deny the athleticism and talent those guys have to pull off all that stuntman shit. So IF soccer, or basketball, or football is fixed, or the players are taking dives or the entire thing is scripted, it ALL the more accentuates the athleticism and talent of the players to be able to pull that shit off

wrestling is not the same. it is a performance. a sports competition is meaningless unless it is as fair as can be. fixed matches suck in boxing, suck in baseball, suck in soccer/futbol.
fuck the athleticism, this is sport, competition, not ballet

they know which matches were fixed. they are not going to release that info. The gamblers who directed this operation are soooo rich, and so powerful in their respective countries, that nothing will happen to them

If you HONESTLY believe that, then perhaps you should stop watching sports all together? Sports has been rigged for ages, period. If you can't accept that, then why even watch? THEY ARE ALL RIGGED. Dude, it is as much a reality as the CIA being the worlds largest drug dealer and gun runner I LOVE NFL and NBA and international soccer, and yes, I fully accept and concede that at any given moment, the whole shit can be fake, scripted, or rehearsed. Doesn't negate the athleticism of the players, neither the entertainment of the game, neither the symbolism of trying your best at your craft. Sorry to ruin it for you, but as they say, "It is what it is."

Haha. I replied to this in the other thread but here seems more appropriate to discuss a total gem. It really demystifies the whole prem manager thing. I'm sure it's different if you're Fergie or a handfull of others but for the rest it just seems like well paid humiliation. |

yes yes. well, the movie glosses over a metric ton of details and spends a lot of time showing goals and graphics of the championship table, but from what i could gather, things were shit when: 1) a lunatic egomaniac was in charge and tried to micromanage everything and took everything personally however, things improved when 1) a saner person took the reins of the organization 2) a professional was allowed to do his job without interference the atrocity of flavio suggesting to players that they-- foul more, or something? self-appointed coach from hell. anyway, don't know what the myth of the prem manager is, but if something is clear to me from this movie is that "management" (i mean that in a general sense) matters a whole lot to the success of an organization. little details, like when amit tells gianni he wants to be more positive and stop yelling at the players-- truly, treat people like cattle and they will respond in kind (coaches and players alike). it cracked me up when warnock walks into the building, points at the stupid "winners only" sign, and says "that's gotta go". also the fact that after all of the week's hard work he told the players to have fun on the pitch. isn't that a much better way to build up morale? of course. |

It's a shame that the massive amount of money and media interest in the Prem
has encouraged so many egomaniacal rich kids to buy clubs, effectively as vanity projects. Amit was certainly an improvement on Flavio (hardly difficult) but he's still not someone I think had a clue how to run a football club. Getting Warnock in and giving him a bit of freedom was clearly a sound move but one most would consider a no brainer, given his proven record in the lower leagues. And now, with their new owner, QPR seem to have returned to the misguided hubris started by Flavio. In that company, you're right, Amit comes across as a beacon of good sense, but I'd hate to see the little shiny coated fucker anywhere near West Ham. Not that we haven't got our own little shiny coated fucker to worry about, already. |

None in the Prem league, as far as I know. Swansea probably come closest, and they're doing fine. There's never really been a tradition of it here but it looks increasingly attractive, especially the more cooperative fan/private model they've got at Barca and Bayern. But the FA will look at the Prem, still the most watched football league in the world and think why fix what isn't broken. It'll take one of the giant clubs to go under before anything changes, and even them I'm doubtful.

He's David Sullivan - same bloke as the one in my avatar. He's basically a bit mad and definitely 'hands on' but nothing like as malignant as Flavio or Abramovich. More a loveable eccentric, really, who made his fortune with porn mags and likes dressing up like a member of the Chinese SS. David Sullivan: a reality TV show waiting to happen. |
