Yeah, so it's not just me (or mine). I thought I was crazy. But it really does smell like baseball card bubble gum. It's given me a craving.

Today I bought two more pieces of vinyl: In Rainbows & Meddle.

The other day I went to the dark side and ordered two CDs on a gift card from Barfs & Ignoble: Spacemen 3 - Perfect Prescription & Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas.

gone by mono is truly special, is like all those songs were meant to be a cohessive (sp?) record thought out like that from the start.

How'd they do that?

Tanky, no love for my recent Floyd pick-ups? I saw a bunch of other Floyd stuff in the store today but I just couldn't bear to do it. My stomach started turning as soon as I picked up the Dark Side LP. Honestly, though, if there'd been any other pre-Dark stuff, I would have gone for it. I'm liking Meddle.

^I bought that for my girlfriend the other week. It's quite good. It came with a free iron-on of the cover too, and bonus 5 track disc. She covers some greats, doesn't she.

Most of my vinyl simply smells like vinyl, of the record variety--and there is a smell. Slightly petrol, slightly plastic-like, but in a nice way.

A few rare ones actually smell like something else, like Boris. I think the bubble gum smell might be coming more from the jacket than the vinyl, though. Maybe it's something they use in the ink.

My Daydream Nation CD used to smell like incense.

Yeah, I'm especially excited about seeing that Stones 12" single. If it's the one I know about, that's a different version of Brown Sugar, one with slide guitar they recorded with Clapton on Keith's birthday.
