oh, hard one.
sound - it's because you can talk, and you can always recall words or even air. feelings - you mean what feelings? rapture? happiness? etc? sights - sometimes it works, right. tastes - you can't recall your tastes, can you? and smell - you can't recall, but when you smell something that you smelled before, you can recall your memories, so this is the truth why it's so tricky and mystic.

i can play sounds over in my head, complete songs, people's voices...
with feelings i mean remembering how something you touched feels, textures and all. i can remember images in detail, although its hard to reproduce them in a drawing. tastes come back in mind easily too. but i can't recall smells. i recognize them, but i can't smell cheese when i think of it, not like i can almost taste it. |

I think i can imagine my favourite perfume, how it smells like. but it's 'something like air' not like just the other ones. you must blow your nose to smell it. with other you don't have to do anything at all.

i find it really hard... maybe my visual memory is just overly developed and it pushes the other capacities away.

it used to, my grandmother was very religious, she told me stories about angels and such... but when she died (i was seven) i started thinking and pretty much decided i didn't believe in any god. now i think the human brain is very well developed, but not capable of understanding everything: there will always be things out of the limits. therefor we shouldn't try to explain everything, but just find peace in the idea that we can't know it all. what about you? |

I like your way of thinking. I don't know really if religion meant something to me. I was born in catholic family. and I was pushed to go to the church, I was always boring in there. but I remember that I believed in confession for some time, somehow it made me feel better, I was small. someway I can't believe in higher things, they don't happen. and I'm like there is no truth about it, can't be. you have right about things that shouldn't be tried to explain. and this quote recapitulate my thoughts.

i don't like how religion is passed in families, like how it's normal to go to church and pray... ah well, most people will start thinking for themselves in the end. i like the idea of a religion as a way of finding some peace and comfort (you have something to believe in, you have an answer to the questions that might bother you) and i admire people who can devote themselves to it and find that peace, but i can't do it. |

yes, it's not a good way to meet religion. and maybe this discouraged me from it.. but there is byword when you fear, then god is good. we just feel so lonely and scared of things that will come.. yes you have answers, and yes I think it's good when someone found peace in that, and believe. but you know. you want to believe that there is something more, or it looks diffrent from that.

well the whole idea of religion is based on fear... fear for what we don't know. i don't think that's a good base for anything. i stopped believing in god when my uncle and both of my grandparents died in a few years. after that, i just couldn't believe a creature that loved us would make such horrible things happen (my uncle died in an accident at the age of 33, he had three young children). and if he did, i didn't want t worship him. aside from that, i got told a lot of stories about guardian angels and i still like the idea of someone who is watching over me at all times. i don't believe in it, but it's somehow comforting. edit: i'm off now, see you and have a good night. |

idea of someone who is watching all your moves, steps, doings, maybe even thoughts terrifies me.. have a good night too !
