Check out Is This a Test? on the Spectral Presence myspace. With some fine tuning (getting rid of the ridiculous fuzz on the second verse, getting the drum sound a bit better, etc, finding an EQ setting that works for all the different guitar parts, you know) I think it will shape up to be a good first single (putting a CD-R in a homemade sleeve and selling it for 2 dollars at shows.)

Thanks
Now if I could just manage to be in 1 at a time. I'm currently in 4 bands right now, but the 3rd and 4th bands I'm trying to get out of. The Spectral Presence is my stuff with Matt on bass and me on guitar/vox. Destroyer! is mainly my friend Mike's stuff with him on guitar, me on bass, harry on drums, and last show Matt joined us on guitar for a few songs. Mike wanted to take a few of my songs from past projects of mine as well as just random crap I write, so I'll probably switch to guitar and vox once per show from now on. Büt Cake is punk/hardcore that Matt and I write and he plays drums and does vox and I do guitar/vox and Ryan does bass. I'm trying to get out of it by letting other guitarists and vocalists learn the songs and them play it when they want. Then eventually I'll disappear from the band, but still be heavily associated with it. Third Time's a Charm is the reformation of a bubblegum pop-punky sort of band named No Mind Frame(they cover blink and greenday.) They're guitarists quit and they needed one to do a paid gig. So basically I'm in it for the money and have nothing to do with the songwriting. Is that selling out? I'm out as soon as they find someone to replace me. I might play one show with my replacement just to make sure the exit is smooth though. Matt and I are guitar/bass/drum whores. :P |

I couldn't either for the longest time, they'd never last more than 2 weeks. So I just bought a drum machine and went for it. Then once I sort of proved myself, people started asking me to fill in for them, or sing for them, etc. (most of the singers around here are god-awful, except Mike. He's a great singer.)
