I love Jurassic 5 (their new album should be in my mailbox Monday even though Cut Chemist is gone)...check out Power In Numbers, Ciccone Youth rules, I like the new album even though it wasn't as ambitious as I was hoping it to be....I'd give it a 7/7.5 in comparison to their other work, but I still really like it.

I think "Rather Ripped" ranks amongst their finest work (as does "Sonic Nurse" in my opinion). It's probably their most "accessible" album (whatever that really means) since the early nineties. Gone are the sprawling jams of "Sonic Nurse" replaced with some really concise, downright catchy songs (all but two of the twelve tracks clock in at under five minutes). I like it alot. I'd give it a 9.
As far as "The Whitey Album" goes, I wouldn't consider it an essential SY album or anything, but there's some really cool, trippy stuff on there. Given the Jurassic Five reference I take it your a hip-hop fan and as a fan of both hip-hop and Sonic Youth you'll probably appreciate it. I'd give it a 7. |

I love RR and even more since seeing them. I do love noise but these songs just seem to work very good how they are ( xcept jams run free should have more noise and length)

i like rather ripped. if you can, shell out a few extra bucks and get the import on amazon or ebay. ciccone youth is interesting. if you like avant garde type stuff the whitey album should be right up your alley.
