not a very good list No sign of Sinking Belle anywhere....and it completely owns 80% of the songs on that list (Hell, just 5 seconds of it owns 80% of the list)

I've only seen #1-#20 so far, and I'm already disgusted.
EDIT - Finished reading the entire list. That was the worst list I've ever read from any 'credible' music magazine, on any topic, ever. |

I hear you on that one! I just read the top 10, and the only artist I'd even heard of before (that I can remember) is Bob Dylan. I'm mildly curious about his new album, but not enough to have heard the song yet. Which says something about the divide between the "mainstream" and underground (or whatever you want to call it) at this point. I didn't expect to like much in Rolling Stone's list, but as a DJ who actually listens to new music every week for my show, I'd expect there might be something I'd be at least aware of! For all I know, some of that music might even be good, though my instincts continue to tell me to look elsewhere... |

What?
One of the problems for me was the lack of variety. Most of the bands mentioned were in-your-face mainstream artists/bands and the mentioned singles, for the most part, weren't even the best songs from them. I think there was no more than possibly 3 or 4 mentioned acts which didn't fall under popular music of this year so far. |

I'm glad Wamp Wamp at least made it in the top 10, but it was the ONLY one I thought was good

I like The Rapture, but of all their songs off that album... It's great seeing some Cansei de Ser Sexy in any list, and Thank God they chose the right single. |

My mistake, I was thinking of "The Rasmus" when I posted that. I have not yet heard the rapture. EDITED.

Oh, I hate The Rasmus with a passion. I was, and am still prepared to disown anyone I know who even likes them a tad bit. |

The Rapture <------- Click it!
"Whoo Alright Yeah Uh" should have been the single in the list. EDIT - The video is cooler. |

Haha, I've grown being used to that. I used to really hate comments like that, but now I find them really funny. I think the last thing a friend said to me as he browsed my last.fm was "The Beatles and Muse smell like open flesh wounds" He hasn't been seen or heard from since... |

I agree with this ones...
40 "Incinerate" [Song] Sonic Youth The guitars do exactly what the title says, as the rejuvenated Youth kick out the jams in an ode to burning adult passions. 60 "Phenomena" [Song] Yeah Yeah Yeahs Karen O gets hot for a dude who's "something like an astronomer," while Nick Zinner's space-punk guitar rocks like a hip-hop DJ on the cut. |
