Why should we start new threads when there are plenty of perfectly good used ones, just laying about?

I'd rep you, but the forum said I was already riding your dick. swa(y)'s a good guy. I know that I've bagged on him a lot, in the name of e-sport, but he's always struck me as the kind of friend you'd look to if you needed to post bail. |

Definitely am not in Georgia anymore. Been in Chicago since September 1st. It's been quite the adventure. Finally saw the Stooges, which were amazing. Caught PiL the other night, too...which I must admit put on a far better show than I'd previously expected. I believe my roomie might be seeing Swans tonight (i believe it's tonight) but I just got in from work and am wet and cold and my umbrella broke but other than that...doing fucking great. Hope all you guys can say the same. And foreverasskiss...yr a weirdo. A neat weirdo, but still a weirdo.
I missed Mike Watt and the Missingmen a couple weeks ago ciggies are expensive as fuck here.

Yeah, the roomie was out when I got home, so I assumed he was there. He was just getting food though...and told me Swans was last night so unfortunately we both missed it. Place is fucking amazing. Met tons of cool folk and seen some cool places. Need to get off my lazy ass and take some pics. Any recomendations on decent dives/venues? I've checked out Mutiny (which I like, even if it's a bit adolescent in way), Liars (kick ass place), Delilahs (punk rock monday is fun, even though some of the clientele can be a bit snobby)...eh, some other randomness. The Chicago Art Institute museum is quite amazing. That giant bean at the park. Yeah, man. Way different than Macon, GA. There are aspects of the south I miss, sans friends which I miss a lot, most of it's rather trivial. Easier to make a decent wage here. People are stranger. Almost impossible to be a "character" so to speak.

Hmm...there's a place on the southside of the city on Cermak(2200 s) and Halsted called the Skylark. Pretty awesome selection on beer. Delilah's is a pretty cool joint...
Though my favorite joints are The Flat Iron, which you may have already heard of it, but it's on North/Milwaukee/Damen. Two blocks down is Emporium which is a bar/arcade. Not as nerdy as one would think. THEN! random bar/small venue is the Hungry Brain near Belmont and Western. Nice cozy place. Venues, Empty Bottle. Go there as soon as you have a chance. Saw lots of bands there(Shonen Knife, Times New Viking, Lightning Bolt, and a lot more) The Vic. MY FAVORITE. Saw Sonic Youth, the vines, and then some here. Bottom Luonge is pretty cool... Subterranean....is awesome. It's like a narrow place, but still great place to see live music. These places are cool because their beer prices aren't stupid ridiculous like 7 bucks for a 10oz cup of beer. It's a bit rushed. I'm at work. |

i just feel awkward in that place...like i'm walking into someone's living room uninvited and know no one in a place where everyone seems to know each other. The bar staff is really cool though. It's a nice bar. I like Underbar on Western Avenue a pretty good bit. Kick ass staff in that place.
