after our last britpop nostalgia thread i got on soulseek and managed to track down these tracks by Salad, i thought i'd they'd sound rubbish after all this time, but i actually like them a lot.

my friend used to like that band, although i think it was only cuz of the girl singer, i remember one of her lyrics going something like..."do you have to be so beefy!" like i mean, c'mon.... what the fuck is that about? beefy? they lost it for me on that note.

Speaking as a beefy fellow, I am deeply offended. I'm going to go off and cry now.

I found a copy of their first album at a friend's place recently. Drink The Elixir was a good song. I think the singer was an MTV presenter as well, wasn't she?

yes, she was presenting on mtv europe back in the day. her father is a somewhat famous tv/theatre actor in holland.
i hadn't hear that elixir song in 10 years or so, sounds pretty nice indeed. i didn't know the other songs t&b uploaded, but i don't really like them i think. |

I quite like the music, as well. Does Elixer skip at the beginning or it supposed to do that? Or is it just me? |

dutch, as 3ra5erhead stated.
i don't think it's supposed to skip, but there was only one person on slsk who seemed to have any stuff by them, so there's not much i can do about that. for those who are interested, i'm trying to download some stuff by linoleum at the moment. |
