I'm listening to DNA on DNA and I want more.
What's the next thing I should pick up by Arto Lindsay or any of the other members of DNA?

I love Arto Lindsay but it has nothing to do with DNA. Do you want No wave?

It doesn't necessarily have to be No Wave. I'm open to new stuff and amazingly I've never explored Arto Lindsay's stuff before.

Ikue Mori's solo stuff is great but doesn't sound like DNA. Arto Lindsay's solo stuff... doesn't sound like DNA. If you want more no wave, check on James Chance and the Contortions, Scissor Girls, Red Transistors, Bride of No No.

I have three James Chance records, Buy Contortions, Sax Maniac, and Off White. I'll be sure and check out the other bands listed. Interestingly I first picked up Buy Contortions because I thought from the pic on the back that he was Thirwell and I was really into Foetus in the early to mid 80s.

If you want to hear complex as hell theatrical progressive rock no wave, yes.
Up there with MOVING TARGETS as the most underrated band I can think of right now. |

The Teenage Jesus compilation: Shut Up & Bleed, which just came out this year, is a must own!
It even features some of their earliest live stuff with James Chance. |

No New York I guess. They also had another EP. There aren't many No Wave recordings period, and I'd say that DNA record is def thier best.
If you like early skronk-noise punk like DNA check out the Toy Killers and the Blue Humans (and other Rudolph Grey stuff, and Mars of course) |
