i once saw parts of bad timing on tv when i was younger and it was a bit weird. but then when i got older and into jim orouke i decided to give him another chance. and in the past few months ive seen
bad timing
dont look now
the man who fell to earth

all three are amazing. especially bad timing. there is something about that movie that has stuck with me e ver since i watched it a few months ago. like this feeling of...something? maybe something speacial

anybody else like his films? seen em? love em? hate em?
has anybody seen walkabout or eureka?

I've seen Performance (co-directed by Donald Cammel) : a weird film too, split in two. Warmer than Bad Timing, which I saw a long time ago.
Witches is a great fairytale for children and adults.

I didn't get the Jim O' reference. Might be lacking some reference here.

Walkabout is one of my favourite films. It's so simple, and absorbing. It gets better everytime that I see it too, noticing new things in the cut-away shots to the present and the subliminal images. Obviously I like The Man Who Fell To Earth and Don't Look Now too, though I remember Bad Timing being a little too... murky? I don't know. I should watch it again

The Man Who Fell to Earth is one of my very favorite movies period. I actually read the Walter Tevis novel too, and the book was quite good as well. Some of the things you think that Roeg created for Bowie were actually in the '50s science fiction novel, which is strange (like the whole thing about the alien become a musician to get his message home).

Because I loved it so much, I had high hopes for Don't Look Now, and sure the cinematography was awful nice. But the story in general and conclusion in particular are incredibly lame. What's supposed to be shocking is just laughable.

But that was a pretty early movie by him. I'm interested in what he's done since to be sure.

i thought that dont look now was pretty good. it was a bit slow and a bit boring at parts, but it was well directed, and i was pretty startled at the end

bad timing is way better though. you should see it if you havent
