I wish Jandek would record a Christmas album.
Imagine this in Jandek's voice: "Merry Christmas to everyone....... except me. I saw you opening up some gifts under that tree. There wasn't anything there for me. Lots of presents for you. I don’t know anyone That understands what I want. I’m leaving forever. I’m going to walk away. Christmas day in a soft, dead state. The turning of time. I like the trees I like the lights I’ll make some friends I'll think of nothing but you I won't enjoy Christmas. It's expected and important of you. You tell me what to do." Something like that? |

Christmas Eve sucks because I'm bored and have nothing to do.

I really need a bass guitar, my songs sound so flat. I also need a decent delay and reverb pedal(s) but alas, I know I will not get it. Though then again, I will be getting money tomorrow which I can use to purchase these items. Woohoo.
And I played guitar the whole of yesterday so I don't feel like jamming out today. |

http://www.myspace.com/sarcastwhile (some experimental tracks) http://www.myspace.com/youmedrbenway (some tracks I did with a friend) The songs I've been writing lately are nothing like those two though. |

I'll ask my SY loving drumming friend haha!
If you could spare the money for a plane ticket to Lisbon then I'd happily come along... though I think I will just buy my own bass. Playing left-handed sorta sucks. |

Midnight mass at Bet Maryam church in Lalibela
(by the way, this cathedral is carved out of a single stone, it is not built of stones)

derek, I just got an electric bass off of amazon for $70. It sucks, of course, but it works. For my early recordings, I simply played a de-tuned guitar and pitchshifted it down a bit digitally and amplified the bassiness through Adobe Audition and most people can't tell the difference. I also did the Drifter thing where I took a shitty guitar and put in bass strings, which destroyed the neck on the electric but it sounds really cool.

yeah, I'm not looking for anything expensive... I just need something to bump up the sound of my recordings. And the effects method you used seems a bit too difficult for me considering I don't work with computers with music.
Mehh, I'll just write lo-fi folk songs and release a record on K Records or something... |

haha, trust you to chime in whenever the words 'k records' come about.
Beat Happening and The Microphones are actually my two favourite bands right now. Greatness! Are Old Time Relijun any good? |
