there was this ancient jazz song with "i long for oolong" in the lyrics. it's good shit, tastes like peaches, my favorite afternoon tea. i get a thing called white tip oolong that's not too expensive. there's an awesome oolong that looks like hairy buds that tastes great, oh what is the name, but the guy charges $7 an ounce, whoa. i'll find the name... i start my day everyday with a large glass of good english breakfast tea and a spot of silk creamer-- yes, that's soy, not cow tit juice. i have nothing against dairy, it just tastes better. of green teas, my favorite is japanese sencha-- it's grassy and delicious-- like a fresh-mowed lawn (i don't eat grass clippings, but i like the chlorophyl smell). gunpowder green i use when i need a serious jolt. another favorite is earl grey, earl grey is good shit, has a hint of citrus (bergamot) that's just awesome. darjeeling is nice and delicate and fucking good. i abhor smoked teas like lapsang souchong, or any smoked taste of any kind. you can get started with any of these flavors by trying twinnings-- it's inexpensive and widely available. if you get heavy into this, then i recommend buying bulk and buying teapots and your own bags to fill. i get finum and or t-sac (i know, funny name). anyway, enjoy. -- ps it's called TIE GUAN YIN: |

a nice earl grey with soy and raw sugar, or a vanilla rooibos
two very fine things in life.

I used to sing this song when I was in a blues band a verse i wrote went..
"Kelly mae don't smoke no chronic Lord, she just drinks coffee and tea, I said Kelly don't smoke no chronic Lord, she just sips coffee and tea, but as far as I'm concerned Kelly baby, that just leaves more for me..."

Sencha green tea. I used to swear by loose leaf in coffee shops for an ungodly sum, but I must now admit that Costco has it in bags that are really pretty damn close to that for a fraction the price. When you're drinking 6-8 cups per day, that price thing starts to matter...

Teavana's jasmine dragon green tea was very, very good.
This one Chinese restaurant in DC (can't remember the name) still holds my favorite tea.
