In NYC, November 10th 11th and 12th @ the anthology film archive. Apparently it's supposed to be a fucking " CRAZY " experience if you like twisted weird fucking shit. It's a slide show, screening of his film, and q&a/ book signing. None of his films are in theatres, he tours with them so he can profit enough money to keep making them.
For those of you interested, Crispin Glover, the dude from Back to the Future, River's Edge, etc is now a critically praised art film director/ novelist/ art producer. His stuff is supposedly very burroughs-esque. I've never seen any of his art or films, I'm just going based on what I've heard but I guess I'll soon find out. www.crispinglover.com |

This man is quite a mystery.
I adored him in Willard, and his rendition of the song Ben made me want to find a record. Got nowhere, so I ended up downloading one on the net and got more puzzled. He recorded These Boots Are Made for Walking in a whining voice which made the whole song nearly unbearable (as if it was him out of River's Edge - I didn't like his interpretation at all in that good flick). Also covered PIL's This Is Not a Love Song. He had been approached by Sonic Youth to appear in their Dave Markey directed video of Mildred Pierce, back in 1990, if I believe Roger Morton's article in the 1 September 1990 NME : "Having failed to drag River's Edge and Wild At Heart actor Crispin Glover out of his apartment to do a video cameo (he was "too freaked" they reckon), they make do instead with Kim spitting water on to Crawford's sidewalk tribute (...)" I'd probably go to one of these shows, were I not separated from America by the ocean (and extra stuff concerning passports). |

Crispin Glover's performance in River's Edge was incredible, despite the scene where he stops the car and gets angry at the girl. That scene was very melodramatic. His character was hilarious though. It was so funny the way he says " Just do it " It sounds like " Jus duhhht, jus duuuht "

It's too bad he's not going to release the movie he directed on DVD; it sounds amazing.
