if you had a time machine and you could go anywhere at any time in the history of the world where would you go? i'd probably go and see the creation of the world first so i could find out what really happened....then i'd spend some time in ancient egypt and greece so i could marvel at their genius and hang out with philosophers....maybe i'd be around to see the first coming of christ....but would i'd most like to go to 1960's swinging london and see all the greatest artistsplaying..the beatles, bob dylan the who, rolling stones, love, jimi hendrix, jefferson airplane, pink floyd...and also to enjoy the cultural change that was going on at the time, peace, free love, experimentation and expression...then i'd probably just live there. anyone else?

as much as religion turns me off i'd like to see the islamic golden age.
also the enlightenment . . . maybe it's cliche but i'd like to see the adoption of the declaration of independence.

I'd kick it off to 1991, and experience 91-94 and go to a few Sonic Youth/ Nirvana concerts, and that creation of the world thing's a good idea as well! I'd also warp to the start of time, and get some cool ass pictures of dinosaurs to bring back and make this message board more exciting

Continental Europe, 1920s.
Dada, Surrealism, Futurism. Awesome. Great silent film work from then too. I would also travel to the 50s and 60s, purchase certain select LPs for very cheap, come back to this time and retire on the wallets of well-heeled collectors. |

I'd go back to maybe the Cambrian period so that I could see some real live trilobites. This one's quite nice:
Awww... Then it'd be the 17th century, to have a look round and meet The Man ie Oliver Cromwell: There's a whole list of other things, too, but I'd be pretty happy with that.

I'd go 1000 years into the future, and trade my teisco for a lot of money, and use that money to buy a bunch of guitar pedals, amps, and guitars and stuff. Then'd I'd cram it all in my time machine and come back.
Either that or I would go back in time and be a great warrior. Or I would go on a tour of the bible. I'd chill with David, John the Baptist, nad Jesus. That would be pretty cool. |

No, it would be more like:
Me: Hey David, seeing as you have 100's of women, can I have Bathsheba when you are done with her? You already knocked her up, you know so I can't knock her up. John the Baptist: Repent!!!!! Me: Yeah, listen to the man! Me: Hey Jesus, can you turn my water into wine again? |

But my way I'm not taking anything away from anyone. If I got the winning lotto numbers, that would mean I'd be taking a large ammount of money away from someone.
Actually, now that I think about it, here is a better solution. I'd go back in time and save 2 59 Les Pauls from imminent destruction. I'd sell one and keep the other one. I'd then put them in cases that they could not possibly become damaged in, and I would hide them in my house. Then I'd buy: a chamberlin a moog all the moogerfooger effects a 72 telecaster a plain old telecaster a jazzmaster a jaguar an SG a 335 a Casino a Rickenbacker bass a Rickenbacker 330 a Rickenbacker 360 a marshall stack a fender vibrolux a fender blackface vibrolux Vox AC30 Vox Starstream Vox Ultrasonic a ZVEX Fuzz Probe EHX POG EHX 2880 Some luthier custom guitars a bunch of other stuff |

Dostoevsky would be really interesting to talk to, but I don't believe I could keep up, and I can't speak Russian.
Maybe hang out in the 50's with the Beats. Maybe sometime B.C. To many choices actually. |

i'd go back and try to turn adolf hitler in a good guy,at least i'd try to develop his interest in thing different from genocide and world domination....
and maybe try to avoid the first WW giving franz ferdinand a laxative so he would not have been killed.and maybe tell nobel that dynamite is not such a good thing.then i'd like to have some fun,but this post would be too long...
