I love the fucking things, so I think in the spirit of this firework season (Canada Day/the 4th of July) that we should post pictures of the loud fuckers.
When I was younger my dad used to have his pyrotechnics license, and was part of a firework business. They would make their own fireworks and do big ass shows. They went to Tortola (The Virgin Islands) to do one firework show, and they also did some in Churchill, at casinos, and a bunch more places. Me and my brother would help them all clean up the morning after the shows, and collect these little balls. You can through the balls into fire and they'll explode into colour. Yeah, anyways. Fuck family fireworks, the big ones are where it's at.

new years in rio de janeiro are probably the best fireworks i've ever seen. they last for over 45 min and are shot from the ocean. you can see them fromthe beach and pretty much anywhere else in the city.

They're fun on the right occassions. With friends and family, they're just alright. I like them a lot on dates, though.
Setting them off yourself is a whole different experience, though. |

Yeaah, but the ones anyone can buy in a store suck ass. They're too small and pathetic for my liking.

That looks fantastic! My dad said shooting fireworks from barges is fucking scary sometimes, but they look so good reflected on water that it's worth it.

The blue and red one looks fantastic. Where did you end up seeing them from? I was at a party on elgin, and the band played right into when the fireworks went off so I missed half of them and had a shitty view. Canada day progressively gets crappier every year I get older

Another thing I love about fireworks, is watching the sea creature like cloud of smoke float away.
Although, fireworks are pretty bad for the environment haha. Actually I was reading something somewhere about how they're making more nature friendly fireworks. They have all the colour except for green or blue or something. Probably green, but I don't remember.

That first one is cool.
The other day people were setting fireworks off in the day time, and it really confused me. Like, I know the little ones aren't much, but is much better to see and hear the bang than to just hear it.

setting off bottle rockets in the daytime is a bit different though as there really isn't anything to see. we used to chuck them in people's yards.
