6/29/2008 Greek Theatre, Los Angeles, CA [Reviews]
Jam > Hell in a Bucket > Easy to Slip > Dark Star, Bertha*+, Black-Throated Wind@, Friend of the Devil@4, Mississippi Half-Step > Samson and Delilah > Stuff > Morning Dew E: Goin Down the Road Feelin Bad*-with Warren Haynes (Guitar/Vocals); +-with Danny Louis (Keys); Bobby and Kenny sat in with Mule on "Watchtower"; Kenny sat in with Mule on "Devil Likes It Slow"Only ''Morning Dew'' (Gov't Mule opened) The Greek Theater is not so bad, the hollywood bowl is a million times better though, and the last show at the Grove in Anaheim was the best, cuz it was General Admission, not seating, however, this issue has been one with the Dead sinces the 1960s so what you gonna do! it was a great show, high energy, long jams, though it is a small set list it went on for two hours! The deadheads were rather tame as well, which I appreciate, when the heads are rollin it can be quite an annoying adventure, but everyone was on a cool and positive vibe, no too much drugs either. All in all a very good night.

this show has gotten better after reflection, the memories of it get sweeter and the music seems even more enjoyable as an after thought then it did that night! when they went into Bertha, that is my favorite tune, and it was a good version, very high energy and quite a surprise. In hindsight, having heard your favorite song out of hundreds is a really cool thing, but you dont realize it until a little later. plus the version of Hell in a Bucket and Dark Star were very polished, all in all i fantastic night.
this is the set list from the last time i saw rat dog, which had the bar raised very very high. I: Jam > The Music Never Stopped > Easy Answers, Queen Jane Approximately, Youngblood, Mission in the Rain (aborted), Tennessee Jed, Picasso Moon, Good Morning Little Schoolgirl, Ashes and Glass II: Mexicali Blues@, Desolation Row@, Salt Lake City, Tomorrow Never Knows > Estimated Prophet > The Other One Jam > Stuff > Standing on the Moon > St. Stephen > William Tell Bridge > The Eleven > Not Fade Away* E: Johnny B. Goode*
