does anyone remember the "volume" series of cd magazines that were released in the late 80s early 90s. these as far as i remember were amazing compilations of different underground bands both guitar and electro and they introduced me to many bands at the time....
there were 2 best of compilations.. "sharks patrol these waters" and "wasted" all volume cds had an amazing booklet and a tropical fish on the cover...... they are all totally long deleted. if anyone has any and cares to share any of these, that would be great..... |

i always used to come across them in record shops and was kind of intrigued by them but at the time i was only about 12 or 13 at the time and it took me weeks to save up for things i knew i'd like, let alone things i was merely curious about. |

There used to be a blog that had loads of them for download.
Buggered if I can remember which one tho.

The only one I've got is the double-LP version of Volume 9, which has the Thurston-sung Doctor's Orders on it.

if a rip of that is possible it would be brilliant.... t vox doctors orders is far better than the album cut i think.

I have a number of these. You can still come across some of them for a few quid in Music Exchange. I have one that has an excellent Genesis P. Orridge interview on it. The quality of them varies painfully and often within the same cd/issue.

Only just seen this reply - I can't rip it myself, but it was also a b-side on the Bull In The Heather CD, so shouldn't be too hard to find in a digital format... |
