hia,
just saw Thurston at the ATP last friday and again monday in brussels. he was very relaxed in brussels, chatting with the audience, even dissin' led zeppelin ("well anyway, fuck led zeppelin!" ) who was playing at the same time in the O2 somewhere in england. when he asked what the O2 was and sb answered mobile phones, things got pretty funny as T kinda misunderstood... anyway, only one encore at ATP (stupid fixed time schedules) - queen bee and her palls; loads of stuff from psychic hearts in brussels with a brilliant 'psychic hearts' song to finish with only T on guitar and SS on drums, had a great time, thanks

nice one. how was at atp? did Thurston joined glen branca set by any chance? were they playing on same day actually? I've seen Thurston twice as well. Dublin and Paris. both shows were great.

Yeah, Thurston was part of Branca's 8/9-guitar line-up on the Friday, alongside just about every other guitarist playing the same day.
Fantastic it was too, though I sadly missed Branca's Saturday set due to spending almost the whole day in bed after overindulging the previous evening/night/morning... |

shit, that had to be great! i doubt audience recording will surface, if it is the same story like the last year. I'm looking forward the pics and youtube links.

there is a recording of Portishead up on Dime and the same person said they recorded Glen Branca aswell and will probably seed Portishead 2007-12-08 (All Tomorrow's Parties Second Night) Immaculate Shoeps CCM4 AUD by persistent ''Yes I did tape some other stuff at ATP: Autolux, Fuzz against Junk, Gas Giants, Glen Branca and the Paranoid Critical revolution, GZA, John Parish, Sparklehorse. I'll probably seed the Autolux, Glen Branca, GZA, and Sparklehorse. I also caught Sia at the KCSLA on the 4th and will probably seed that as well.'' |

yeah, I did (... he he) no, it's just that not many recordings from last year ATP surfaced. only few. who was it. tristan was caught by organizers. I don't know what happened exactly. I thought it might be same this year with the serucrity, but obviously that guy know how to steal the stuff (if necessary). |

yes, I've seen that torrent (wanted to dl. it big time. have you grabbed it? is it good? he's saying that it's his probably best audience recording in 10 years he's taping). didn't noticed that he wrote about other stuff he has recorded. cool. i'm looking forward to that glen branca. paste the link in dime thread (just in case I'll miss it :-)). I'll def. grab that. |

. .. paranoid critical revolution were awesomeness fucking dirty nasty dischord shit . . . but thurston didn't play with them lasses. he did the 15 min 'new work 4 guitars' bit w/ branca daybefore , ,, which too was incredible fucking steamroller of a tune that i just wished would never end . . it had great shit going on right the way through it . . . i hope a recording of that surfaces! my god.
aside from that: old branca got in a bit of a state in the merch stand when he demanded that some dude pay 50 instead of the fifteen quid because glen had now signed it for him . . . said dude weren't having it and gb threw a bit of a wobbler . . . . . . . . .. or so the story goes. i kept seeing him all weekend and was just a little put off going up to him for a chat after that . . . did buy a cd off his other-half though. |
