That movie, made me cry. Not because it was beautiful or anything, because I thought the premise could have been better. |

I think many agree on this board that "The Science of Sleep" was very disappointing, as the follow up to the great "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and the trailer made SOS seems really quirky and cool, and then once I saw it I was like, it was good, but just doesn't compare to "ESOTSM".

I thought The Science of Sleep was very good. But whatever, I'm not arty enough to understand it I suppose.
I rarely ever disappointed by movies because I never expect anything when I go to see them. I do not read the reviews. |

These two aren't recent. In fact they are from some time ago, but the feeling of being conned is as strong as ever.
Get Shorty. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but I did think that it would at least be watchable. It's the only film that has ever made me (or my parrtner) walk out of a cinema before the end. Dreadful, dreadful film. The Mummy Returns. We watched this on video because a friend told us it was quite good and lent it to us. We actually were expecting it to be pretty bad but I have to say that I had no idea of exactly how bad it was going to be. I was shocked. I never realised any film could be quite so dreadful. The Mummy Returns is the worse of the two, but it's a children's blockbuster that's not attempting any great artistic merit. Get Shorty is supposed to be proper film, so the awfulness of it is more of a crime.

painting bolivians and blacks as utter retards is not my idea of hilarity... --- shortbus was a disappointment. i expected more from john cameron mitchell than oprah with cocks and cunts. |

I wanted to see Shortbus, but haven't felt like sneaking around to watch it without my parents knowing. Though, they probably wouldn't bother to check what's in the movies I decide to watch.
The Science of Sleep was a definite disappointment.

What's to understand? It's a date movie for people who went to art school. I think it was made so these people didn't have to see movies with Meg Ryan in them. I thought it was OK, but not as great as the trailers made me think it was gonna be. Without a doubt it is totally a "date movie" though. |
