Need to make a gong.

It won't be anything special. I have a large concave circular sheet of metal and I have thin wire to suspend it, but can anyone advise me as to how to make 2 small holes in it to put the wire through.

EDIT: Victory is mine! It took about 20 mins but I made 1 hole by hammering a sharp screw in the rim. SAGE this thread now.

Gongs are probably the most dangerous instrument imaginable. Quite how some people manage to use them without turning into prog shit baffles me. Boris, most notably.

Gongs are awesome, I'd love to make a moody acoustic song with a gong, maybe a tabla, with a nice droning sound with some chanting, to be overwhelmed with nature, in the middle of beautiful meadows.

Thomas Koner has some great electronic recordings using gongs are sound sources. "Teimo" and "Permafrost" are especially good.
