I'm interested to know what kind of strings everyone uses.
I recently switched to Ernie Ball Beefy Slinkly 11's. It was a neccessary but welcome change as my store stopped stocking Vinci 11's. The Ernie Ball's sound much nicer, especially when tuned lower.

I hadn't changed strings in about 8-10 months. I had forgotten how new strings sounded.

I'm using .10 up standard cheap ones except for the 6th where I use .09 for it not to break for the strain. Tried to use a .10 there but to get to the E tuning as the neck is funny the tension was too much.
Incredibly, they sound really good. My guitar is the responsible I think.

D'Addario 11's for the Jaguar, and D'Addario 10's for the Squier Strat. For some reason that I'm unable to work out, D'Addario's last for ages whereas Ernie Balls break all the time on my gtrs.

I like GHS Nickel Rockers but they are expensive. Like 8 dollars a pack.
GHS boomers aren't bad, but the Nickel rockers are so much better sounding. I hate Ernie Ball Slinkies. |
