A few weeks back, videos started getting deleted from a few of my favorite channels for having a decent amount of profanity in them. Sometime today I'm assuming, Youtube decided to change any curse words present on the comments underneath a video to a bunch of unnecessary asterisks. I feel like I'm on a disney forum or some shit. Now, thankfully, you can change this by clicking the "options" link next to the comments header and un-checking hide profanity in comments. Why youtube would think that its users would want profanity hidden in the first place is beyond me. |

Youtube keeps getting lamer and lamer, either way. I thought the whole point of the "voting" system on comments was to delete unneccassarily mean/vulgar comments on videos. Obviously, if someone got on the lion king video and said "fuck this gay shit", it'd probably get tons of thumbs down... yeah, anyway...

As I was saying to someone the other day, if you want to appeal to a whole bunch of people, you have to start with those who are easily offended.

I don't have the asterisks, I guess it depends on the country of the viewer.

I saw someone call another a f*cktard (my asterisk) and didn't click anything.
It's a pain that so many videos have been pulled from there. Used to be a nice way to hear a song without having to open soulseek and download it. Oh well.
