It should be a real interesting series b/c it is hard to tell who has the edge, style vs. style. I like the MAVS lineup better and their chemistry more than the HEAT. But defensively,i'm not sold yet on the MAVS being that strong and able to contain Wade and Shaq. But they are improved nonetheless, and Wade and Shaq may be able to do whatever they want, and the MAVS could still win. It's gonna be hard to stop the MAVS offense, b/c it exists all the way through their lineup, except maybe Diop. They just really open the floor up and have so many weapons.

I like the Heat, but I don't really care who wins. Dirk is cool and so is Wade and I've liked Shaq since he was in college. Heat in 6.

i caught some basketball the other night. We only get the coverage starting at 1am and games beginning around 2am. I can never watch a full game cus of that. I saw gary payton is still playing, for the heat (i think) when i was big into basketball around 1995 he was the reason i supported the sonics

the glove? yeah, he's still out there. he's 37. that SONIC team with Kemp and Payton was pretty exciting.

Don't forget Detlef. I like the Sonics too because of the Kemp days and because of the obvious. I'm glad they traded for my boy Chris Wilcox.

like I say, I don't get to see much basketball these days but that guy labrawn(?) james looks like one to watch. I saw these videos of him, I can't be sure are real or not. one was him jumping over a defender's head and dunking in a full game, the other was a news broadcast with some reporter talking and then the camera pans across and he's sinking ball after ball from the other end of the court

Yeah Lebron is rediculous. He can score, rebound, pass the ball, and get you a steal......nasty. That commercial was fake though

I like the Mavs because their non-traditional owner, Mark Cuban; he even produced a documentary about the Scripps Spelling Bee hehe.
But, I'll have to go with the Heat because of Point Guard Gary Payton, one of my all-time favorite players. While watching Letterman last night I switched to Leno during a commercial break & caught Mo Rocca doing his report from the finals. There is a night & day difference between these basketball players & say, NFL football players who are usually just so damn cool. The character discrepancy has existed for many years, but those players last night as Mo was doing his segment acted like the biggest bunch of spoiled primadonna assholes... People other than myself of course have complained for years about the NBA being like this & it's made me not even care anymore about basketball. Honestly, I won't be watching any of it this year. The French Open is cool & it's going to be great to be able to see all the World Cup games on TV here in America. |

Sooo Wade averaged more points than Jordan did in his first finals....crazy. Haslem seemed to really shut down Dirk even though it seems that he still had pretty good numbers.

No way man....Wade is an assassin, Dirk isn't (even though he's the man). I think their experience was also a big factor as well......that shit matters.

I assume you're basing this on the olympics/world championships... Look at the American teams; typically, there were 6 swingmen, 4 power forwards and 2 shitty point guards. In essence, we've been sending the Knicks over. Unless players here start CARING about international competition, or the coaches try assembling a team rather than the 12 biggest names that can be cajoled into going, that assumption is faulty. Some foreign players come to the NBA and play terrifically. Sometimes they're Nikoloz Tskitizvili or Pavel Podkolzine. I suppose all those Yugoslavian/Argentinian/German/Spanish players are turning down the $78 million guaranteed max contracts that they can get here on principle and love of country though, right? |

If you take the Detroit Pistons, and send that entire team to interantional competitions, I guarantee you you would have an undefeated team. noone can compare.

Soooo how many NBA games have you watched Sn@ke? That's fine if you don't like it, but it has the best players in the world.....seriously, the league is extremely international.
