I do a radio show at my college station on Thursday nights and this week I want to do a Halloween themed show...
I'll obviously play Halloween by SY and maybe the Mudhoney cover of it. Also definitely gonna do Bela Lugosis Dead by Bauhaus. Thinking of doing some Wolf Eyes- Stabbed in the Face maybe. Anyways, I just need some recommendations for songs that either talk about halloween/scary stuff or just stuff that has sort of a creepy atmosphere to it. Thanks. |

Yellow Swans - High On The Mountain Of Love is fairly scary.
Wolf Eyes - Rotten Tropics is far scarier than Stabbed in teh Face Hair Police - Anything off of Blow Out Your Blood

The soundtrack to Dario Argento's classic horror film, Suspiria by Goblins.
That is very creepy music.

anything from Nick Cave's Murder Ballads album, especially Stagger Lee.
and anything from Johnny Cash's Murder album (from the Murder, Love, God, Life compilation series), like Long black veil or Delia's gone How long is your radio show? If you take the version of O' Malleys Bar from Nick Cave's B-sides box, it lasts over 30 minutes. So if you play that as last song, you can go home early for a change Oh, and anything by Babes In Toyland may fit in nicely too.

I'd throw on "Torching Koroviev" by Khanate. It's not too long of a song and really fits the mood.

Something by Sofa... maybe "With It"...
something off of AFI's All Hallows EP, possibly? (This one is a tradition for me every Hallowe'en) hmm... "Dead Flag Blues" (the monologue part) by Godspeed You Black Emperor!... kinda long, but the monologue is interesting and disturbing, and the music is eery and...cryptic?...
