It is not predictable. But then again I haven't been paying much attention to new music this year.

Haha, I love how the likes of Rihanna, Vampire Weekend and Fleet Foxes each have multiple listings, while Deerhoof and Drive-by Truckers are nowhere to be found.
I'm sorry, I haven't heard all of the music of this past year, not by a long shot. Of the 20-25 albums I have heard... Drive-by Truckers latest is THE best. |

Is any of this music particularly good? I haven't heard any of it.

I dunno. Whenever I listen to it, all I hear are songs. Just songs. Nothing to grab my interest and make me enjoy it. It bores me to tears.

Well you know, it's basically what that album is, songs.
But I find those songs perfect. They all have something that catches my attention |

Of course, nearly ever album is basically songs, but those songs have something empowering about them and that entrances the listener into them. I didn't find that with any Deerhunter I've heard, I just found it really empty.

Yeah, it's bland, soulless, overproduced, empty, boring... though pleasant and unoffensive to listen to. Just meh.

i wouldn't go as far as they are perfect songs, but yeah they are well-written and sound like deerhunter instead of hipsters desperately trying to sound like stereolab.

I think they're Coldplay for people with big kid britches and delay pedals instead of pianos.
