Because I'm supposed to write an essay for French class about American Youth Culture as an ambassador to France.
But honestly, I'm surrounded mostly by lazy, arrogant, narrow-minded people, and I'm not interested in telling it like it is. The only growing trend I can write positively about is growing tolerance between races. And that's it. I could be missing something. If I am, please tell me. I only need one more positively quality about the youth of this culture. Bonus points for something definitive.

The only thing I could really say is that the youth of today are far less ignorant about the rest of the world (could be good or bad, we'll see when they get into power) than say the current ruling generation (say 50 years old-Cold War era) when they were young.

Teenagers are becoming more and more efficient at finding ways to illegally download pornography off the internet.

Teenagers suck. Except for the ones who post here.
I'd try to write about the things youth can do instead of what youth are like. |

Could be a load of shit, but the fact that a black man is running for president for a major party makes it very convincing shit. I can't believe he used the words "coloreds" It shouldn't be funny, but still, that's so funny.* I would call many of those already mentioned winners, but I'm pretty sure they have both Guitar Hero and horny teenage boys in France. *meaning of course the tactlessness itself, not racism

More kids nowadays are forming bands than when I was a street loitering juvenile, from what I can tell.

That's true. Anywhere you go you can find a youthful music community.

the young american culture is dead! you can't speak in general terms of a young american culture, cause there are many sub-cultures in the usa and the tendency it's become more isolated of each other, a real young culture happened in the past like the 60's or the 70's when they were together fighting for something with a true meaning...now the young culture is a culture of "fat isolation": internet + macdonalds!
sorry but...NO FUTURE! |

Very complacent. We really need a good kick in the ass.

We as kids have too much at our fingertips now, the exploration of being a kid is kind of hampered by that.
