I recently bought her entire discography and wasn't let down by any one of the albums. Although Wave isn't her best, it still kills many other albums. What are yr favorite albums by her? Mine are obviously her first three as well as Gone Again and Gung Ho. Radio Ethiopia is the nosiest and the best.

I'll have to be boring and say Horses. First time I heard it I didn't get it (probably because of the 'punk' associations) but since then it's become something of an obsession of mine. A genuinely beautiful album.

I haven't heard most of her later albums (post-Wave), but Horses really is amazing. She performed the whole album in London a few years ago, and the recording of it has been released as a second CD with Horses, its soo good.
Also, some early performance/poetry: http://www.ubu.com/sound/smith.html |

I love Horses. Radio Ethiopia is nice. Didn't like Easter aside from Rock N Roll Nigger

I'll be boring, too, and say Horses. I purchased it the month it came out, and I know this is a cliche and hyperbole, but it literally changed my life. I still love it, and would rank it among my top 10 favorite albums ever.

Horses, but Trampin' is fabulous.
Recently I got Twelve, the covers album, which is pretty good. I really dig Patti.

I'm not a fan, I prefer Television, but thanks to SY I listened to Radio Ethiopia and I got into it more than Horses (I especially like track 2, "Ain't it strange").
