I just picked up Dadamah's new 7 inch and it is great. Some sublime Velvet Undergroundesque dreamy trance rock.
This man never seems to get enough love. He's released so much amazing music over the last 3 decades. Dadamah, Hash Jar Tempo, Dissolve and the Pin Group are all superb. Torlesse super group was a real return to form as well, the trip hop direction on that release reminded me of some of the bowery electric's earlier work. They have a new release due out in the near future which should be great. Liz Harris has also started releasing some of his stuff on her label so maybe a few more people will become aware of him and hopefully we will see some reissues of his best work at some point as they are really hard to find. So who else is a fan? What is your favourite Roy project? |

definitely the HAsh Jar Tempo, their first release sounded as good last month as it did 10 years ago

Pin Group is my favourite, but I like most of his stuff, and I like it a lot.

for me it's all completely inseparable, roy is one of the most startlingly consistent musicians out. if I had to choose it would either be scenes from the south island or just the dadamah catalogue in general.
had not made the torlesse/bowery electric connection before, but now I think about it it's painfully obvious. good stuff. |

Temple IV is my favourite. I could play that cd until the end of time as well. Ive often passed out with it on repeat many many times. I forget what the other one i got cause its on a tape. Same idea. Dreamy guitar thats just goes on and on. Something about Islands come to mind.
