today's bitch: I have a uni class that starts at 8.30am on Wednesdays, but - because I've confined myself to distance learning - if I want to make it physically I'll have to catch a train that starts before 6am. On top of that, too, I have work the night before...

I'm up to 22 months pushcarting, no real plans to change anytime soon (mostly because I couldn't get anything that sucks less while the economy has shit the bed.

And there is a uni in my town, but that was my last preference due to a) a fairly low reputation, b) no courses that were more directly applicable to my interests, and c) me explicitly wanting to interact with new, cool city people (and I'm sure you can work out what 'cool' is in this context )

i think with your talent and field of study you could get any number of interesting and well paying jobs in the city. also australia's economy is not so bad because china keeps growing.

Once again, 10.000 idiots took to the streets to protest against the Corona measures in Vienna today. Some of them apparently tried to get into the parliament. Once again attacks against journalists and the police. Once again flat-out Nazis among them. Fuck, fuck, FUCK people right now. Whilst some are trying their darndest to protect those they care about during a pandemic by showing a massive amount of restraint and, yes, flat-out abstinence regarding physical contact - ever-growing masses of dickbrained, science-denying scumbags are parading their disgusting lack of care and sheer disregard of other people's wellbeing like it's a frickin' fashion show. Truth be told, it seems downright futile at times as of late.

Well, what I hope for most is for this shit to be over some day. And such people don't just endanger themselves, but everyone they come in contact with. Shit's a bit too real for me to think that way - even if just in jest or cathartic, vent-i-licious hyperbole. I'm not above fantasizing having an Acme-style, comically oversized (to ensure a safe distance) wooden spoon to beat people over their heads with if they're being disrespectful covidiots in public though. Or a non-lethal electrically charged energy field I can activate when a maskless moron is not keeping his distance. Where's cartoon logic when you really need it in real life?

There's been a wave of femicides shaking Austria since the beginning of the year. Mostly butthurt lowlife men who can't handle their girlfriends and exes living their lives like a human being. One of those instances occurred a week ago, perpetrated by a smarmy (most likely) rightwing motherfucker who had been in the news before for sexually harassing a female member of the Green party via disgusting comments. Then he sued her for defamation, a process that took years and pointed the ire of like-minded assholes towards said politician. The charge was dropped in the end, because the tripledecker turd sandwich Kaiser had no case (of course). Now he shot his then soon-to-be-ex for "threatening to leave him". And I just found out this absolute piece of shit lived only a few blocks from where I live. Hell, I walked past that block many times in the last few years. Same place the murder was commited, apparently. This country has a problem with turning a blind eye to domestic abuse and still clings to a disgusting conservative system that doesn't hold such motherfuckers accountable until it's too late. Fuck this ass-backwards nation. And fuck men. We are a massively stupid lot.



Alright, hyperbole in overdrive on the last part there, but shit pisses me off. Fragile egos can't take it, when more progressive voices throw terms like toxic masculinity at them, but are in no way willing to do some self-reflection and bring on some positive change.
