So, for those of the board who haven't been in high school for the past decade or so, I'll think aloud here solely for your benefit....
So all the class spirit stuff, for the past decade each class has always had a chant with their graduating year. "OH What?!" "OH NINE!" It's tacky cause spirit and enthusiasm is tacky, fuck that. But now people are getting pissy because the younger classes are now saying things like "OH what?!" "OH TEN!" Like...that doesn't make much sense unless you say the year two-oh-ten, but people really say twenty ten. But I think the whole thing is stupid because really only years '01-'09 could do this. I keep trying to tell people that the other classes, like the class of '99 didn't say "Oh ninety nine!" they didn't say anything (did they?)...well I don't know what did your graduating class do for celebration or whatever...I want to know!

AND I don't say "Under God" during the pledge of allegiance!
Not really, we never even say the pledge.

The classes, when I was in high school, would battle it all out in powder puff football.
Whichever class won got a bunch of free dilly bars from DQ. |

*pronounced with a silent "e" **pronounced "two thousand four" |

'08 was pretty bad because of all the things that could rhyme with eight.
annoying: "'08 APPRECIATE!" "'08 is great!" "'08 don't hate!" |

Had to suffer through a bad rendition of Whitney Houston's quasi-abysmal "The Greatest Love of All" as a class song before giving my valediction which referenced Einstein in the intro (how pretentious!?!) whilst holding my cap because a huge thunderstorm was a-brewin'...a tragicomical scene.

Underclassmen don't make sense, anyways. It isn't the point of being underclassmen. Who cares? Only those that put all their memories in four years of their adolescence and have no aspirations to higher things.
And of course my year, like the last handful before it, had the sappy "Good Riddance" by Green Day played almost on loop. |
