Any opinions on this great Australian instrumental band?
Warren Ellis is a legend as far as I'm concerned, either as part of the three or as part of the Bad Seeds. |

I borrowed Horse Stories at the library and was disappointed as I found it rather boring actually.

well it's always the same kind of story every time...
It's hard to tell which is the best one since they all sound the same.. |

Sometimes great, too often boring. I don't like The Necks either.

By the way, read this: http://www.arthurmag.com/2009/01/25/...008/#more-3900 It makes me almost cry how much I love this woman. I want genetics to allow me reproduce creatures with her, without going vaginal. |

I think Dirty Three are quite enjoyable when I'm in the mood for them.

They're okay. I'm a dirty boy so you'd think I'd love 'em. But alas.

I guess i'm the only one here who thinks they're genius. The entire band approaches their istruments in such original ways, their sound is like no one elses.

Fucking annoying, when I saw them. I came to the conclusion they were all high on something, and it wasn't a good something. As far as Australian instrumental bands go, I prefer Silver Ray. |

I also like the Cat Power album where Jim and Mick are the backing band.
As for the Dirty Three, I love the idea of a band like that playing around the Melbourne pub scene in the early 90's. |

I liked the 'In The Fishtank' they did with Low but their regular stuff's kinda bored me. I've got Ocean Songs someplace, I'll throw it on and give it another go.

I can dig their albums until about halfway through. Then it just sounds really monotonous from there.

jazz... You could always try Triosk and related band Pivot and Adrian Klumpes.
