Heya,
My parents are sick of my current hairstyle (or lack of one) and have given me 72 hours to come up with a better one. I have no idea, except that I want something more androgynous than I've had before - hence why I'm enlisting SYG's help, for better or worse. Here's what I have to work with, although I'm allowed to grow into something:

Bloody hell you're asking a lot from this bunch of ragamuffins here. Why not go to a (decent) hairdressers and get them to help you out. Lord knows they'll be better equipped to deal offer advice.

if going "full trap" is the plan, I would just let them grow? I'm actually letting my hair grow out from a 1mm hairstyle right now (it's been two years, it's a LONG process) and I mostly just went to hairdressers and told them my plan to grow my hair long again. They just "cleaned up" my head every time I went in, cut some hair off to make it look like SOME kind of haircut that would not look TOO weird as the hair grew. If I remember correctly they would just cut the sides a bit, a lot in the back (so i wouldn't have to walk around with a vokuhila ). Now my hair is finally in a state in which it can just grow long without having to be cut every 3 weeks...
