America is so cute sometimes, it just makes me all warm and fuzzy, as if I were debilitated by a drunken stupor or just hit really hard in the head. Of course, what exactly did this young man think would happen fucking with Am-uh-ri-kuh like that?
What was he thinking..

meanwhile, the people who ordered the murders of children and civilians and environmental atrocities enjoy their bourbon, neat.
Manning, Snowden - they are courageous true American heros. revealing corruption and crime. The traitors are those who went overseas and raped and murdered and stole money, and there are a lot of them. |

Not a single Bank executive went to jail for the Mortgage frauds, yet the shareholders in the bank and mortgage companies paid out over $65 Billion. No money came directly from the people who actually commited the crimes.
It pays to be RICH.

Martha was caught insider trading. she went to a minimum security prison for a few months. she then was under house arrest in her MANSION. Yeah, it pays to be rich.
Russia is different. The government can do whatever they fucking want there because it is a totalitarian state.

it's not like martha stewart killed somebody. what would you have her do? be burned at the stake? beheaded and her head on a pike?
the prison system is shit. anyway, re: manning. i hope the judge sees the light and lets him go with time served (solitary confinement should count extra) |

The only rich people giving away all their money are the ones dying soon.

not just solitary but torture - sleep deprivation is considered torture in most of the world among other things they did to him. EDIT: I see your note above, we're in agreement |

How is that different than America? In America, people are as powerless as anywhere, its just stylistically different in how its implemented. Plenty of folks disappear in prison for life-times, plenty of folks disappear under special renditions, plenty of people are dead. Yeah, there has to be more pretext, but what would really stop "them" from one-day piling up a bunch of bogus evidence and making any of us Americans the next Manning or Faisal Shahzad?
