Ladies, and gentlemen, place links here to all your favorite FULL ALBUMS available on the Youtube.
I begin with Neil Young - On The Beach (a favorite of mine, and one I discovered through various SYG members discussions of the out of print album. Mad thanks to the Genteel Marrass) http://youtu.be/D705s1p4BU8

Out of print? Just checked amazon and it's still available. Eitherway it's a great album. Not his best but certainly up there.

I guess I got the wrong info. Thought that the LP vinyl was OOP. Wikpedia sez it was OOP until 2003 when it was released as a HDCD encoded remastered version.
The vinyl has the interior of the sleeve printed with the pattern on the umbrella fabric. it looks real cool.

AUGUSTUS PABLO - East of The River Nile
(Much thanks to my man Donald Drake for playing this LP at our poker nights, which reminded me of how much I used to love it when another friend of mine, E. French, used to play it 15 years ago.) http://youtu.be/dBTDanqGwtA

This is a bit of a godsend at work, today I listened to Nevermind for the first time in like 10 years, I'd forgotten how good the b-side of that album is.
Also been using it to listen through the Can back catalogue, and Bikini Kill and Brat Mobile. And Boot Camp Click. |

I listened to In Utero yesterday for the first time in at least 10 years yesterday, even though those tracks are permanently etched into my brain as a result of being a teenage Nirvana obsessive, it's funny how time and age have totally altered my reading of that record. It's patchy at best, and clearly the work of a disturbed, deeply unhappy and alienated individual.

yeah, but there was a period in the early 2000's when there was still "the missing six" Young albums that were kept OOP. Time Fades Away, On The Beach, American Stars & Bars, Journey Through The Past, hmm... um... what were the other two? Trans maybe? Reactor maybe? Anyway, I remember On The Beach getting issued on CD eventually. I'm not certain if all 6 of the missing 6 have though.

On The Beach was recorded under the influence of "honey slides."
anyone got some schwag we can cook with? Here's Neil's notorious recipe for "Honey Slides" as he described it at a concert at the Bottom Line Club in New York City, NY, May 16, 1974 while introducing the song "Motion Pictures". Neil: "Anyway, we're in this hotel room (harmonica), we're trying some honey-slides, you know....You know what a honey-slide is? (voice from audience: Yes!) Honey-slide, mmmmmmn! You know, poor grade marijuana (he's playing soft guitar all through this... Motion Pictures intro), worse than you get on the street, and you take it and you get your old lady, you know, if you got one, to cook it up on the stove, you know, put that stuff in the grinder, get it real fine, in a frying pan, put it on the stove, turn the heat up a little, wait till the grass just starts to smoke, just a little bit, take it off the heat, don't want to burn it too much (laughter and a few guitar bars), then you take the honey, you know, get a half a glass of honey about this big - I hope you ladies are listening to the recipes tonight - (audience laughter and a few words missing) just heat that honey up until it's slippery, you know, and mix that grass with it, you know the fine grass that you've cooked up just until it started to smoke and you took it off, mix those together and you get a spoon you know (voices from the audience and laughter). I think you should eat it after that. Just eat a little of it, you know, maybe a spoonful or two, you'll be surprised, it just makes you feel fine... (laughter) That cheap grass is great. You know, in these times, you have to think about prices and things like that (laughter). according to the band members it was like taking heroin, in that it hit them heavy and half of them would nod off in the studio within 15 minutes. ha!
