I would just find an old MusicMan 2x10 combo.
It would cost just a tiny bit more and sound way better. |

No. This amp will kill you instantly if you plug it in. DO NOT PLUG IT IN.

I would generally avoid the Fender FM series at all costs. I'm sure you could find a much better amp for the price range. You should check out second hand gear. Usually gear is reduced almost 50% in price when it's second hand so you can find a lot of high quality gear for a more affordable price. I just got a Vox AC30 CC second hand and saved around $700 off the retail price.

as long as you don't plug in or turn it on at all you'll be fine.

Not the best, but you could do worse.
I was looking at those before my friend sold me a DeVille. Can never go wrong with checking out second hand gear. Try one out if you can and see if it is right for you. |

nah, i wouldn't do it, go for a second hand tube fender, musicman or ampeg in good condition (little bit over 1000 bucks for a good amp that will last a long long time), but if you really want to go for solid state (and cheaper, 500 buck-range) get a fender stage (tho i think they don't make them anymore) but you can find them secondhand, whatever you do, if you go for a fender amp don't get those blues devilles, hot rods etc etc.. they're crap and are way overpriced..

try this bad boy out too, if interested. Peavey Delta Blues. 30 tube watts, 2X10, 2 channel, and is on the lighter side. got it for $599. i just picked one up and it does everything well.... even straight thru with zero effects it got me through a set and sounded great.

I saw an interesting line of Australian 'Ashton' amps today- they're cheaper than most because they're new on the market. They have some nice pedals too.
